Accessibility statement
How we work to make our website usable for everyone.
This statement applies to https://kiltearnmedicalcentre.nhs.uk/. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
How accessible this website is
We’ve built this site to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. That means you should be able to:
- Zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen
- Use only a keyboard to move around
- Use speech-recognition software
- Listen using a screen reader (including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack)
- Read text clearly with high colour contrast in line with the NHS Digital Service Manual
The text on this site can also be resized using your browser settings without breaking the layout.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Built to NHS standards
The site follows the NHS Digital Service Manual, which sets accessibility standards for NHS digital services. Specifically:
- Primary body text is set in NHS Black (#212b32) for maximum contrast
- Body text scales from 16px on mobile to 19px on desktop
- All interactive elements have a visible focus state
- Forms have clear labels and error messages
- Headings follow a logical hierarchy

Technical details
This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Embedded content from third parties (such as the Google Maps iframe, NHS App banner images, and the CQC widget) may not always meet the same standard. We’ve flagged these to the relevant providers.
