Childhood Immunisations
The Practice Nurses give all childhood vaccinations. You'll be sent invitations through the post. Phone the surgery to book.
About this service
Our Practice Nurses run the full NHS childhood immunisation schedule from 8 weeks of age through to the pre-school booster. Routine vaccinations protect children against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Meningitis B and C, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), Pneumococcal disease, Rotavirus, and Varicella. Vaccinations are one of the most important things you can do to protect your child.
What it covers
- 8-week, 12-week, and 16-week primary course
- MMR at 1 year and 3 years 4 months
- Pre-school boosters (4-in-1 and second MMR)
- HPV and teenage boosters
- Catch-up vaccinations for children who missed earlier doses
How to access this
A letter will be sent by the Childhood Immunisation Team when your child is due. Book by phone, online, or in person. If you don't book, you'll get reminders. Tell us if you'd prefer not to vaccinate so we can record that decision and pass it to the Child Health Department.
