Blood taking is an important part of diagnosis. A visiting phlebotomist from Leighton Hospital runs on-site clinics here throughout the week.
About this service
A phlebotomist is a trained blood-taker. The on-site clinics here are run by a visiting phlebotomist from Leighton Hospital, so routine blood tests requested by us can be done locally rather than at the hospital. You'll need a blood form from a doctor or nurse before booking.
What it covers
- Routine venous blood samples for full blood count, kidney/liver function, cholesterol, etc.
- Diabetes monitoring bloods (HbA1c, lipids, kidney)
- Thyroid function and B12/folate testing
How to access this
Monday 1pm to 3.45pm, Wednesday 1pm to 3.45pm, and Thursday 10.40am to 12.45pm. Book through reception. To book at Leighton Hospital instead, visit patientconnect.uhnm.nhs.uk - you'll need your blood form.
