About this service

Travel vaccinations protect you from diseases not common in the UK. The NHS funds some of them; others are private and charged at cost. Our nurses run dedicated travel clinics and will advise on what you need for your destinations.

What it covers

  • Risk assessment based on your itinerary
  • NHS-funded vaccines (hepatitis A, typhoid, cholera, polio boosters)
  • Malaria prevention advice and antimalarial prescriptions
  • General travel health advice (food, water, sun, altitude, insect bites)

How to access this

Complete a travel risk assessment form (available at reception) and book a travel appointment. Allow at least 6 weeks before travel, longer if multiple courses are needed. Some vaccines, like yellow fever, must be given at a registered yellow fever centre. We aren't one, but we can point you to your nearest centre.
