A new way to receive your hospital letters
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is changing how it sends hospital letters and appointment updates. This is the Trust's scheme, not a change at the surgery.
This is a Mid Cheshire Hospitals scheme
Digital First is run by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which includes Leighton Hospital. It changes how the hospital sends your letters, not how Kiltearn Medical Centre contacts you. We're sharing it here because it affects our patients who are seen at the hospital.
What's changing
The Trust describes this as "Digital First, not digital only". From now on, the hospital will send most letters and updates to you digitally, through the NHS App and by text message, rather than in the post.
You'll be moved to digital letters automatically. Paper letters are still available if you need them, so nobody is left without their hospital communications.
If you'd rather keep paper letters
If you'd like to carry on receiving physical letters from the hospital, you can tell the Trust using any of the options below. These are the hospital's own contact routes, not the surgery's:
- In person: speak to hospital staff when you check in for your appointment.
- By phone: call the Trust on 01270 904446.
- By email: digitalfirst@mcht.nhs.uk.
- Online: visit www.mcht.nhs.uk/digitalfirst.
Helping someone else
The Trust says these routes are confidential and are only used by hospital staff to update your communication preferences. If you're supporting a family member, friend, or someone you care for, please encourage them to get in touch, or to speak to hospital staff at their next appointment.
Getting ready for digital letters
To get the most from digital hospital letters, it helps to have the NHS App set up on your phone, with your correct mobile number and email held by the hospital. If you're new to it, you can download the NHS App and get started at nhs.uk/nhs-app.
The NHS App is provided by the NHS, separately from this hospital scheme. Setting it up also helps you order repeat prescriptions and manage GP services with us.
